TXMX Automotive is an independent advisory practice based in San Antonio. We work on one thing: the automotive corridor running through Texas and the four northern Mexican states — Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas and San Luis Potosí.

Why one region only

Most decisions that go wrong in this corridor do not go wrong for lack of information. They go wrong for lack of resolution. State-level statistics are abundant. How many megawatts can actually be delivered to one particular parcel, how many hours a particular crossing actually takes this quarter, whether a particular Tier 2 can hold tolerance — none of that is in them. That resolution does not survive covering six regions at once.

On independence

We do not act for any government body and we do not take a success fee on a siting decision. Public agencies are sometimes our clients — but the work we do for them is honest assessment, not advocacy. When we tell a company a location is strong, that has to be a finding rather than an assignment.

Many statistics on this site come from research Bexar County has published. We are not connected to the County or to the Texas‑Mexico Automotive Supercluster initiative in any way; we use public documents as primary sources, as anyone may. Where our conclusions differ from theirs, we say so on the page.

Working in Japanese

Japanese OEMs account for roughly three in ten vehicles built in North America, and their supplier networks run the length of this corridor. We prepare material, hold meetings and structure documents in Japanese — specifically so that precision is not lost in the handoff to a translator who does not know what a Tier 2 tolerance discussion is about.

About the data we publish

We do not launder public statistics. Figures are public record and not themselves copyrightable, but every exhibit on this site carries its source and year, and anything we derived ourselves is marked as derived. We do not reproduce anyone else's prose.
